I am curious to see if there are any Flemings in Australia that match up to my ancestors from Avondale Lancashire Scotland. John Fleming b 5th Feb 1826 married to Janet Miller from Stratheden. . John and Janet emigrated to Australia in 1855. John had `11 brothers and sisters. They were Mary, Alexander, Thomas, James, Margaret,Janet, Archibald Jean Helen,William, Margaret. There seems to be a connection to a five Shilling House. His parents were James b 31 May 1786 and Janet Barr b 2 April 1794. James was also born at Avondale and was a grocer at Five Shilling House. Johns Grandparents were Alexander Fleming and Margaret Meikle. I have birthdates for his siblings. His son which was my great grandfather was William Duncan Fleming born 10 Aug 1856 at Point Piper Estate in Sydney Australia. I am interested in hearing from possible connections.
