There's an easy way to get the answer.

Name: Leslie G Jessup
Mother's Maiden Surname: Grosvenor
Date of Registration: Oct Nov Dec 1940
Registration district: Paddington
Registration county: Greater London
Volume Number: 1a
Page Number: 44

-- order the birth certificate!

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

It will give his mother's full name.

Yeah ............... I was just about to go looking for the other Jessup thread of recent acquaintance and see whether it was connected ..................

Sally -- would you consider reading and acknowledging the replies you have had in your other threads, and then continuing the investigation in one and only one of them?

No Leslie Mahoney who fits his specs died 1984-2005. Later deaths aren't searchable, unfortunately.

There are Leslie Mahoney-s on the electoral role. One has the middle name Gerald, and was aged 45-49 sometime in the 2002-2008 period, so would seem to be too young.

There is a Leslie W Mahoney aged 65+ in that time.

There is also no David Jessup born 1944 who died 1984-2005. There are numerous David Jessups on the electoral roll.

Your anxiety is understandable, Sally, it's just that it really doesn't help to scatter messages around with different info in them. What is most likely to work is one thread with *all* of the info in it.

EvieBeavie Report 11 Mar 2009 02:36

Oh, for pity's sake, Sally. You deleted your other thread, where I know I had posted information. Whatever it was, I hope you kept it. If any of it was relevant, perhaps you would add it here.

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 11 Mar 2009 02:41

This may be of interest. I did a quick electoral roll search for Leslie Jessup again while I was there, and 2002-2008 has one Leslie Jessup in a household with an Ann O'Mahoney.

They don't appear on the latest electoral roll. (People may opt out of publication.)

Perhaps someone who has access to full details of the electoral roll will see this and send you that info. If not within a day or two, we'll see whether we can rustle someone up to do it.

Do I recall from your other thread that someone did send you address info, and was it not the right person?

EvieBeavie Report 11 Mar 2009 02:58

There is a (male) Jessup-Omahony birth in 1996, apparently the same birth reregistered in 1999.

... no, that would belong to a couple who married in 1999, not Leslie Jessup.

Oddly, searching for Ann O'Mahoney on the electoral roll doesn't come up with the Leslie Jessup household.

Okay, here's another odd one. A Leslie Jessup married a Dilys Patten in 1985 in Colchester. On the 2002-2008 electoral roll, they are together, but she is Dilys Patten -- odd for a woman who is 65+!

There are four other people with them, with three surnames other than Patten and Jessup. (I've discovered that sometimes people at the same address are shown as in the same household when they aren't, though.)

That's another listing you might like details on.

You know, you can search at www.192.com yourself! And buy credits to see details of any listings you think are worth pursuing.

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 11 Mar 2009 02:59

I should have stopped while I was ahead! I've been on the trail of Dilys Patten ...

Okay, let's see whether we can figure out where Leslie and Ann are. I may be able to trick 192.com into giving up its secrets.

Sally

Sally Report 11 Mar 2009 03:00

evie a lady caled jean sent me a message with a address for colchester in the 2008 electoral roll what do you think sally

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 11 Mar 2009 03:03

Okay, they're in London -- if you guess the right place when you search 192.com, it shows you the bit you guessed.

But it didn't produce a telephone listing. Let me try BT on line.

Okay, no telephone listing. But from what you say, it may be in another name. I tried her name, and there is a listing for an "A" but the postal code doesn't match the electoral roll listing (i.e. I guessed wrong).

Let me twiddle a bit more.

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 11 Mar 2009 03:08

Well, I'm cooked. 192.com only lets you twiddle for a certain number of searches without paying, and then it cuts you off for the day.

Meanwhile -- edit your subject line to read "electoral roll look-up please" instead of what it says now.

You want a look-up for:

LESLIE JESSUP
XXXX X XXX XXXXXX XXXXX
LONDON XX XXX
other occupants ANN O'MAHONEY

and I will delete this personal info once it has served its purpose.

Very best of luck.

EvieBeavie Report 11 Mar 2009 03:11

Okay, I went to 192.com in a different browser where it doesn't recognize me. ;)

The one in Colchester is the one residing with Dilys Patten.

It sounds like you think the other one is your Leslie.

You still have the message from Jean -- reply to it and ask her for the new look-up. Jean's a doll and will be happy to.

Also give her directions to this thread -- copy this into your message:
