Hello Ricochet
Firstly i would like to appologise for not noticing your qeustion on my thread, i must of been half asleep or something had had the grandchildren all day. I have got them on the 1901 census but my computor is playing up and i cant get the flash player to work so i am stuck. I only know that they had a sister Rose Parsons born 1895 and Florence who was 8 at the time and just found another sister. At that time they lived at Back Street Exmouth Devon, but i would like to know if anyone has the 1911 census where they was then.
Thankyou
Debbie

If you want to try out the 1911 census Debra, you can do it here:

http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx

There are no subscriptions -- anybody who wants to see anything there has to pay by the view. But you can search for free.

Try looking for one of your people by year (+/- 2 years, say) and place of birth.

If you find them, then search for the same surname (no given name) in the same place, living with the given name and surname of the person you found.

Then you'll get a list of who else was in the household (as long as the names aren't too common, and more than one household gets mushed together).

If you're looking for details you may need to view the transcript or image, but you may be able to find all you need that way.

If that sounds too complicated or you need help, shout. I don't like to spoil people's fun by doing stuff for them if they enjoy doing it themselves!

Ha, bad luck -- there are *two* Rose Parsons-s born 1895 in Exmouth, living in St Thomas in 1911!

But only one of them is living with a Florence.

Was your Rose a Rose Nellie? If so, just search for Parsons living with Rose Nellie Parsons in St Thomas.

... Eek, that didn't work. There are no Parsons-s living with her. She must be the other one?

Well, having no luck.

Can't find a matching Walter born in Exmouth / Devon. And there are a few too many Williams. Do you have middle names for them? Sometimes middle names are included in the census records.

Civil parish: East Dawlish
Registration district: Newton Abbot

Mary Searle 51
Florence Searle 31
Frank Searle 17
Florence Parsons 8 - granddaughter, born Exmouth

Can you give the source of your info about Walter and William?

Closest I can see in 1891:

Ernest A Parsons 10
Emily J Parsons 8
> Walter J Parsons 6

Crossed in the post -- the girls are granddaughters of the Searles, Ancestry says.

The only George Parsons + Elizabeth Searle marriage

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

was in Whitechapel in 1869. That seems unlikely ...

Hello janeycanuck
Thats as far i got, i put it that Mary was maybe a grandparent but then i got confused thats why i wanted the 1911 to see if they were still all together then I thought Roses mum may have died early,

Hello janeycanuck
Grace Parsons was the other sister born 1913 and George married Elizabeth Gooding (sarah)
Debbie

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 28 May 2009 22:23

Hmm. Grace born 1913 was a sister of William born 1882?

It's possible ... but that's a 31-year spread ... not really highly likely - ?

Can you give us some reference for Walter and William?

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 28 May 2009 22:25

Marriages Dec 1887
ANDREWS Mary St Thomas 5b 128
Brooks William Henry St. Thomas 5b 128
> Gooding Elizabeth Sarah St.Thomas 5b 128
> Parsons George Daverage St Thomas 5b 128

Married after the births of Walter and William?

So one of the two wasn't a parent of the two boys?

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 28 May 2009 22:28

There were three Grace Parsons-s born in 1913, in Dorchester, Cambridge and Walsingham districts. None had mother Gooding.

Debra, you do need to provide some references for all this. 'Cause it just doesn't make sense!
