Find Ancestors

According to the family Bible, Mary Ann Rowell Married Stephen Poynter ( Also spelt Pointer) and had 7 Children. When she died 12/10/1886 the children were brought up by her sisters.The 1891 census shows

Fanny b 29/6/1875 living with her sister Frances Shaw
Florence b 25/10/1876 living with her father
Alice b 30/6/1878 - d 7/5/1881
Anne ( Annie) b 11/3/1879 ???
Agnes b 4/12/1881 ????
Lizzie b 12/3/1884 living with her sister Annie Burling
Michael b 13/3/1886 living with her sister Frances Shaw

I am trying to find out what happened to Anne & Agnes

Was there an epidemic in 1881 as the 1881 census shows Fanny was already living with her Aunt

Regarding Anne, She was still living at home at Station Row Rainham Kent, at her sister's death, which seem odd. If there was an epidemic.

thank you for finding Anne. I can't remember my grandmother ever talking about her family, no wonder they were well dispersed.My Grandmother, Lizzie was brought up as an only child.

I thought I had got to the end of this but I have hit another brick wall

Anne Poynter ( Annie Pointer) is correct she is living with Henry Pointer Hannah and James in 1891. In 1991 she is visiting Gunn Lane Strood. Who are Henry & Hannah?. I assume he is an Uncle but can't find him on any census. Any Ideas?

Strood is in the Medway Towns but there are no names on the 1990 census that I recognise.

It says Annie is the niece, so Henry is her uncle!

I was trying to find the relationship to Stephen Poynter ( Anne's father) As I can't find a brother Henry nor can I find his death.

Thank you for finding his marriage. This must have been a second marriage or a very late one. I was looking for it much earlier

I cant find Stephen with Mary Ann on the 81 census.

There seems to be another Stephen, wife Jane. Also a Florence crops up with this family?

Unfortunatly I have not been able to find him either. have assumed he was not registered.

Where have you got his age from?

On the 81 census he down as 29 and his wife 38, a big age difference, although not unheard of

I just cant see him on other censuses using that birth year and along with not finding his birth registration it's starting to ring alarm bells

Yes .....you are right .
The Family bible starts with the marriage of Stephen and Mary Ann Rowell. I was so happy to find the rest of the family that Stephen just came along for the ride, so to speak.
The whole relationship is complicated on the Rowell side as Mary Ann's Daughter Lizzie went to live with her sister Anne Rowell and married my Grandfather and then Anne Rowell married my g grandfather, Lizzie's father in law .
The Froyal to Raimham ( Milton)part is OK .

I feel like I’m undertaking a re enactment of the Spanish inquisition asking you soooo many questions - soz about that

So at least we now have Henry on the radar

However, I’m not happy that Stephen age keeps changing by 10 years

The census I posted with Stephen and daughter Florence, the age is different again?
