Hi Sharon

A Margaret COATES died in 1903 in Kempsey, dau of John & Isabella. This is the same place youngest child Dulcie was born in that same year...

A Margaret WILSON was born in 1875 in Newcastle to John & Isabella...so I wonder...? Dates fit with her being 16 when she married in 1891.

There is a marriage for a Jas COATES in Kempsey in 1907 to a Catherine WIXTED (reg 7838). I wonder if he re-married (seems likely with 5 young children to raise).

'late of Bellevue Hill) ................. 1900 Dulsie E (1924 'Dulcie' E m Harry Cuthbert). .............. 1903 Melba B (1923 m Frank Garside. (Frank Garside d 1963) ....... The RYERSON INDEX -online- has newspaper death notices to current day you can ask them for free 'look-up's i.e. 'Stanley Claude' & 'Raymond' for family names etc. .....Valerie (WA)

Thank you. Sorry do not know his parents as yet. When he married in 1891 he was a young policeman and his wife was only 16 so he could be either of the first two. Think he had a brother George and Henry. Thank you for your help and quick response. Sharon

Hi trying to find information on James Coates married to Margaret Wilson 1891 in Newcastle Australia. I have been told that he came to Australia with his parents and siblings from Bradford England. I am thinking he had a brother George and Henry. The faimily lived north of Newcastle with a road named after the family. Hope someone might have a connection.
