Hi Simon,
Sorry to be so long in replying but I am at the hospital most days visiting mum.
1871 census piece 1231 fo.45 page 5
George Marshall, 43 lab, Yateley
Sarah Elizabeth, wife, 43
Fanny Jane, dau, 13
Harry, son, 11
Sarah Elizabeth, dau, 9
Albert John, son, 6
Sam, son, 3, Yateley.

So yes, it looks as though he is the brother of Sam b. 1867. There were other siblings in 1861, George b abt 1849, James William abt 1852 and Ann abt 1854.

Hi Simon,
I tracked back on Edward William Marshall born 1925 in Vermont. He was on Lynne Cassono's tree in Ancestry and must be related to your Sam Marshall.
Edward's parents were William George Marshall and Susan Robinson. William George's parents were Henry Marshall and Lucy.

Hope this clarifies it.

Hi Simon,
Here is William George's family in 1901.
1 Bath Court, Reading
Henry Marshall, 42
Lucy, wife, 35
William G, son, 13
Ellen, dau, 12
Polly, dau, 10
Lily, dau, 8

Lucy and kids went to America from Liverpool to Boston on 4th April 1908 on the Cymric. Haven't found when Henry went but probably just a bit earlier.
In 1910 the family plus Sarah 7 and Eunice 2, were living in St. Johnsbury, Caledonia, Vermont. All born England.

You can check on the National Archives site, I think the records are in series J77. Apparently only selective files survive after 1938.

Hi Simon,

It would appear the link between you and Lynne Cassano is further back in the 1800's but she has an awful lot of information on her tree and there are masses of photo's of the Marshall family on there.
