Hello June -

It sounds as if your husband's great-grandfather Richard Thomas Faulkner is my great-great-grandfather (my connection is through his son Frederick Arthur Faulkner, born in 1880 in India)..

Much of the information I see above is correct to my knowledge. One note - in some of the records Richard's wife's Margaret's maiden name is given as AHEM, but I believe it was AHERN (just an error in transcribing from the lower case, I suppose).

Due to being in the army the family moved about a bit! I can't see a marriage, so perhaps they married in Ireland?

I am trying to find out about my husband's Great grandfather.In 1883 he is listed as a Sergeant Instructor of the First Volunteer Battalion Lancs Fusiliers. He was married to Margaret (Nee Ahern) and lived in Bury Lancs. They had a daughter Gertrude born in 1883.
