Kenzie.
For the 1871 census type in Eyres no first names living Holdenhurst Hampshire.
Neptune Ayres I found mistranscribed yesterday on a different census but now I cant find him.

The Eyres family with Susan Wellock in 1851. One of the children Louisa is born Odiham.
1851 census
I also found an Elizabeth Eyres neice 1849 Odiham living with William Eggar 1813 and family in Odiham Hampshire.
Williams wife Harriet born 1813 Dam Husband Hampshire. She might be related
The Eggars are not travellers though. They are living in railway cottages.

In 1871
Paul Ayres and family living Long Sutton. They have a son Galiath ( name changed to Goliath by a member AlmaBacon1) Perhaps you should contact her as she may have more Eyres/Ayres family.

I expect you have already been on the Traveller/Gypsy websites

Margaret, many thanks,

That's is the reason why i am having trouble and there is a possibility of a name change to Turner. But i cannot base my reasons on a source, well i sort of can but i cannot prove they are the one and the same.(i hope you understand that?) I do believe that this is them in 1851. As i mentioned in my first post.
Where abouts was the 1871 one you mentioned i would love to have a look,

Neptune might be something to do with this family, still looking in to that,as well.
Many thanks Tina

I don't have an ancestry subscription. My husband said I could have one or the other!! GGGGrrr!! How expensive is it? I have posted things on there before because of search links. Do I have to have a subscription to search this stuff?

All right you bored people.

As the proud owner of a thread on Railway Ancestors,
and a dodgy internet connection,
I`ll let you see if you can find anything on my Aaron Parfrement (he he).
He was born 1840 Kings Lynn (under Parfremint) and is resident their in 1841(Parpement) & 1851(parfsement).
In 1861 his mothers died & hes not living with his father John Parfrement(under Perferment)
What I do have is a notice from the London Gazette seeking relatives dated 6 Apr 1877 with the suggestion he died between 1865-1877. I`m presuming hes abroad in 1861 but can`t find any record of him in Army service records at the national archives online. Any other suggestions?
I need someone with access to Find My Past to go through the army death indexes thoroughly under P as I currently have 5million variant spellings of the surname.
Any takers?

OMG!!! And I thought I had a challenge for you guys. YOU ARE AWESOME!! Thankyou soooooo much. Yes, 1861, things are hazy. A letter from catherine's daughter (second marriage) says that catherine's uncle travelled heaps on his ships, and perhaps Louisa left and went with him? You have just about finished my whole fitzgerald family tree!! I can't thankyou enough. You are S E N S A T I O N A L!!!
How did you find all this info? I have some census info, but I couldn't find them all. I WOULD LOVE to see the tree you have put together, I must admit I am a lil confused. I have heard through the family tho that apparently all oswestry fitzgeralds are from the same family. I just realised, should I be clicking on ADD to write this, or am I doing this right???

Battenburg Report 5 Aug 2008 00:34

Im wondering if your Eyres/Ayres are travellers. This might explain why you are finding it difficult to find them and why no marriage

Im finding Eyres family in 1871 Hampshire who are travellers. No first names

In 1881 census I found Neptune Ayres 1851 Hampshire occ hawker married to Delitha.
One of the children is Rhoda

This family is living in Gipsy tent Western Green

In 1851 your George Eyres and family are living in Camp possibly on South Side Farm
The family appear to be picking something but cant make out what

Battenburg

Battenburg Report 5 Aug 2008 00:00

Is this the 1851 census.
George Eyres 1800 Tadley Hampshire occ chair bottomer
Rosa ( could be Roda) 1812( age obscured so could be wrong looking at the childrens ages) Great Bedwin Wiltshire
Susan Wellock 1831 Baden Berkshire. living with Ayres family. No Nehemia present. There is a Namima 1828 Inham Hampshire but supposed to be a girl

Sorry cant cut and paste cos dont know how.
This should give you enough to find them

TinaElizabeth Report 4 Aug 2008 15:13

Yes Margaret those are two of them the others i have Are a
Caroline Ayres/Whitlock 1851 have birth cert for that one
Rhoda Ayres 1855
Henry Ayres 1857 Pewsey, wilts
Edward 1861 Maddington, wilts
Then alice and John
Also there are many name variations on Ayres which is making them hard to find as well.
Sorry you was quicker than i could type
I'm sure that's all i have on this family

Thank you wow that was quick.

I think they might well have had more but its finding them thats the hard part.

Hi i have asked before for help but i haven't had a lot of luck nor has anyone found them, I only have my great x3 grandfather twice on the census. I have never found his marriage, but this isn't unusual i am lead to believe. I have got him on the 1861 census.

Nehemiah Ayres

Estimated Birth Year: abt 1831
Relation: Head
Spouse's Name: Susan W

these last four are listed as well but i don't think they have anything to do with this family.
Jan Blundy 34

Any information as to regards his children and his marriage would be great. His wife mn was Whitlock once transcribed as wellock.

I also have them in the 1851 census but didn't take the numbers for the reference properly. i have just put

A huge please and a huge Thank you .

(My other board name was inarushherts, changed as my 4 year old wanted to have her name shown and mummy wanted a quiet life, lol)

Hi Hyacinth and Margaret,
Obviously you are looking for challenges and you have both been most helpful to me before so this is my latest.
A friend gave me some info from a friend which were the surnames of her paternal grandparents with dates of birth. Male Louch c.1882 & female Heath c.1891.
Heath's mother is a Fletcher

FreeBMD gives :-

Marriages Jun 1912
Louch William H Heath Bromsgrove 6c 723
Heath Mary A Louch Bromsgrove 6c 723

Births Mar 1883
LOUCH William Henry Bromsgrove 6c 437

Births Dec 1890
Heath Mary Ann Dudley 6c 43

I have obtained the 1891 census for William H Louch but have drawn a blank on Mary A Heath.

Is that sufficient of a challenge to prevent you from being bored???

Best of luck,
Frances

Jo

Jo Report 4 Aug 2008 06:41

Well HI!!! Glad to see some energy on the board...wooohooooo!

I have a real challenge for you. Actually, I have been looking so long, my head hurts :(

I have a fitzgerald family in Oswestry
Father William Fitzgerald
Mother Amelia Thompson.
Children:
Catherine Thompson Fitzgerald B 1854
Louisa Thompson Fitzgerald B 1855
Matthew Fitzgerald B 1857

The family split up, amelia (emmeline AKA) ran off with the neighbour thomas (scandal)and had more children I think, and her father moved elsewhere.
I have census info for catherine and Matthew up until 1901. Catherine left for australia and matthew moved to liverpool. Louisa??? Totally disppeared. Apparently she may have married and became Lady Bird??? And lived in Dublin Castle. But, the last i can find of her is on the 1861 census in oswestry when she was just 6 - parents spelt fitzgants. How young did they marry back then???????????
Scary.
So what ever you can find, would love to see it! I am finally getting the hang on this genes thing, but I am ever so desperate to find this chick, and so far I have come up with nothing! Thanks a bunch Mrs Bouquet, Lady of the house speaking!!!!!!!!!!! I am ever so grateful, Jo
