kidsnpets Report 2 Oct 2008 18:08

His fathers name is on his marriage certificate as Robert Turner she did remarry later to someone called Tuvey,
John Tuvey is one of the witnesses on his marriage certificate, in 1920.
also rung the st pancras library with the address he gave on his marriage certificate, and he is living with Charles, Robert and Ada Tuvey, (not sure if Ada could be his mother) these are obviously his step family, and half brother/sisters.

thanks

Did Alice remarry ? If she was married to James and he died in the same year that Walter was born...he (Walter) might not know his father's name.

Would think it depends when in the June Quarter they married as to whether they will be on the census together. Census taken on night of 5th April 1891.

So Walter James Turner married in St Pancras?. However he need not have been born there.
What was his fathers Roberts occupation from Walters marriage cert please so we can narrow it down?

My mother told me my grandmother was born in a place but I couldnt find her on the census in that place, or her birth. Her father had died before she married but her marriage cert gave his name and occupation. Found them in 1891

A death certificate after 1969 should tell you the place of birth....if the informant knew, of course.
