After a quick look, I don't see either Thomasina or Eleonor in America.

When I wrote to offices in Canada, I explained that I was living in California and was working on my family tree. They were all very helpful (I think especially since they knew I couldn't just drop by the cemetery). A few years ago I wrote asking for my gr-gr-grandfather's information (and who might be buried in his plot) and mentioned his first wife's name and that she died before him. The wonderful staff member not only gave me all of the information about my gr-gr-grandfather's plot, she also found his first wife's burial information!

I'm not sure how to obtain his certificate; I will look around and be back here shortly (I'm Canadian and have only ordered one certificate from the states).
PS It's best to order certificates from the state offices, not private companies, as it is less expensive.

By the way, do you know his occupation, please?

I believe the "VitalCheck" site mentioned on the above site is one of those sites that charges more than you need to pay.
Because he died prior to 1900, it looks like you have to order the certificate through the county where the death occurred; believe the county is El Paso.

Have you tried asking for a lookup to see if Thomasina went back to the UK? It looks like the date ranges offered are 1878-1960. There is a Mrs. T.B. Browell arriving in Southampton, England, but I cannot view further details. Do you know if Thomasina was known by any other name? Do you know when she was born, please?

I need to also know how do I go about sending for his Death certificate too.. ie. address of registry office.

I am now stepping into a new territory as I am in England.
So far I have been unable to find any marriage of Thomasin(a) or on the 1901 Census.
but, never mind, she may turn up one day!

Like others, I couldn't find any additional information about immigration. I tried looking for Thomasin(a) in 1900 (with a different surname, but didn't see anything. Is there a chance that she could have returned to England? (I am on my way to work, so I won't see your answer until tonight.)

PS You could try writing to the cemetery office and see if they will give you additional information. The cemetery staffs in Canada have been very helpful to me; perhaps they may be to you as well, especially since you have most of the information you would need to check the records.

I only had James on Census with his parents & siblings. I found his death by accident in the local paper in England.

I can't find a James Browell on Castle Garden or Ellis Island, but most records from 1892 on were destroyed by an 1897 fire at Ellis Island.

I can't find a suitable Thom* Browell, nor an Ina/Ena Browell in US 1900, nor any suitable Browell in CO 1900.

My Gt uncle & his wife went off to America between 1882 - 1893. I need help in finding them to see if they had any family.

Their names were James Martin BROWELL & Thomasin(a) nee Todd.
They were married in Newcastle upon Tyne 1882.

James died in The Union Home. Colorado Springs. USA. on 30 November 1893.
