Hi John
Just to let you know I've looked thru the death index from 1937-1952, there's no sign of Jean under Teesdale or Teasdale. There's nothing on CWGC site either.

Hi John
No I've never had to do that, when I found my grandfathers sisters family ( on 192.com ) I wrote them a letter enclosing a SAE. Luckily they wrote back! everythings worked out well.

I wish you GOOD LUCK whatever you decide to do.

There is a James Archibald aged 60-64 in Sunderland showing on 192.com as being listed in 2002-2007 electoral roll but there is no Olive Archibald listed.

thanks for that Sheila. Going to have a look at more births for Jean. Whilst I've been looking I noticed the name could be spelt TeEsdale as well as TeAsdale AHHHHHHHH, if I don't come up with anything I'll look under the different spelling.

I don't suppose Olive had any children with James Archibald?? have seen a few births with MMN Watson but could be a coincedence as it is quite a common name.

Hi Cassandra

Your right :O) if you magnify it to 150 or 200% it is clearer, thought I had found a marriage previously but it was a E not a B.

Anyway had a look and cannot find them together on the 2003 elec roll will send a poss address for James to you though John.

John Report 26 Jan 2009 17:20

i do remember her being taken away whilst i was still quite young but im sure it was bristol and they had the st peters hospital there for disabled people etc.

it was bombed in the blitz in 1940 so there may be records of her there although only parts of the hospital were destroyed, so she may have survived.

been looking this afternoon but found nothing as yet

John Report 26 Jan 2009 00:32

Hi sheila

i don't know of anyone who would have any more info on her as i have lost touch with all that side of the familly.

if any one can help i am also looking for my other sister too.

she was taken away whilst i was still quite young as she had special needs and i'm not sure whether she would have been older or younger than me, or if her name would have been turnbull or teasdale.

she was either jean turnbull/teasdale. our mother was mary teasdale 7/12/1910 and our (father ) was john george teasdale 06/05/ 1909

due to the fact she had special needs she would not have been married or had any children. so would only be able to locate her from birth/death records

she could have been born in sunderland as our parents were married in dec 31st 1931 in sunderland and i was born in sunderland 1936. bt the family also has links with birmingham and smethwick.

judging from the previous searches olive our sister was born in 1930 in paddington ( i am just waiting for the certs to see for sure.)

once again thanks for your help

No marriages for an Olive B Watson till the end of 1968, would anyone else know if she remarried and if so when ?

John

John Report 25 Jan 2009 18:36

hello all and thanks for all the help and info.

i do remember my sister but unfortunately my memory now isn't the best. i remember the little lad as i was home on leave from the navy when terrence was killed and i attended his funeral. when i returned to the navy i never seen olive again but i do vaguely remember someone telling me around 1965 that olive was living in the sunderland area.

shirley i also come across the one in paddington and also thought it looked very promising as it is the only olive b i can find so i have ordered a copy of the cert, thanks.

cassandra, the marriage in birmingham also very promising as i do remember being sent to that area during the war. i will also order a copy of that cert and let you know how i get on. this information is a great help, thanks.

once again thank you all.
