I have ordered the certificate and waiting on it now. Just impatient I suppose. There are two possibilities for his parents, Alexander and Ann McPhee / McFie or Allan and Kate Keith.
The familys were farming on the Darling Downs around Dalby / Miles / Drillham area I believe.

I am having a problem with Donald Alexander.
He was with family in 1905, but there were 2 Donald Alexander's on the roll that year, the other being an 'Overseer' in outback QLD, but he was out there in 1903 and still outback in 1913.

As there is no other trace of a second Donald Alexander, I have come to the collusion that it is the same man.
I have often come across duplicate entries for the same person if they have changed address between elections.
So, I will give all details on the Donald which I have found.

Hi Julie,
You are a trojan, it all comes together. First Annies brother Gilbert marries Emma Thrower in 1914 and next Annies son Alexander Duncan marries Dorothy Thrower in 1916 (my grandparents), all I have so far on the Thrower line is Dorothys parents were Arthur Charles Thrower and Isabella Butler married Jan 1886 in Tenterfield NSW, nothing on Arthur Thrower`s background yet. Maybe Emma and Dorothy were cousins, they were not sisters as I have our Butler line all the way back to Willie the Conqueror, and Dorothy did not have a sister named Emma.
Family stories have Arthur Thrower born at sea on the way to Australia but I have not found any record of this so far or where the family came from, I believe he may have some connection to the Gympie area in Queensland to do with starting the local newspaper or something like that, I will be down in that area in a couple of months so will make some enquiries on the spot.
There is also the connection to the Cairns area with a statue of a Carstens in Port Douglas but I can`t recall the first name until I drag out some photos but I think it may have been Harold, and all my grandfathers family were butchers or slaughtermen.
The name 'Boulia Downs Station' also rings a bell.
Well that fills out some leaves for me and makes the chase more fun, it gets very addictive.
