No, Misty, haven't seen Dea since I found you two talking about me behind my back re: chopsticks. (No, I never learned how to use them!)
Viv, Dea isn't a Cannuck, I am. (Born England, brought up in Canada)

;) Margaret...

Please could someone do me yet another look up...Isabel Fallowfield....New York Passanger List 1820-1957..arrival New York,New York....Thank you

I wonder if she went to the US, married Mr ? Searcy who later died, had the girls with him, then went to join her brother's in Canada..maybe leaving her girls in America...I can find no birth for them in Canada and she did keep going back...if, of course this is the right lady!

No other Isabella(sp) born in Appleby in or around 1868, as stated on the passanger list Lisa found...I'm sure she's the right one (or maybe I just want her to be)

Thank's again
Misty x

I don't have access to passenger lists, Misty. I did check Ellis Island but there's nothing there.
Where's our friend Lisa?

Misty...ok, any guesses about me (referring to you making up our lives, by seeing us "at a screen")? Hmmmm?

I've lived in California for ever and ever, but I'm still Canadian. :)))

Whoops, hubby is here to pick me up from work. I will continue later tonight. (Scout meeting to go to in a bit.)

You wont find any BC births online - the current closure on births is 106 y - the law says 120 y and we're working up to it from the old 100 y law.

Here is a bit about Ocean View Cemetery:
http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/CAN-BRITISH-COLUMBIA/2003-06/1056934661
They might be able to help you. [Note: the message was posted several years ago.] This is from a message from two years ago:
Ocean View Burial Park
4000 Imperial Street
Burnaby
British Columbia Canada
Postal Code: V5J 1A4
Phone: (604)434-8611

A few years ago, I wrote to a cemetery office in Toronto, Canada inquiring about my brickwall ancestor (gggrandfather). They not only told me where he was buried and his information, they also told me who else was buried in the plot and where his first wife was buried (even though I only mentioned that she had died young). Included in the information was his place of birth (rather than "England" which had been on all other documents), which helped me to find his family in England.

I don't have Ancestry Canada, but I did try looking for (on the 1901 Canadian Census):
Isabel (all spelling variations), born 1864 (+ or - 5 years), born England
and didn't see anything close to Searcy. Misty, if you have time, you might also check, in case I missed seeing a close spelling. (I was trying to find something close to Searcy.) One of my ancestors is commonly found under Vans rather than Vaus, so I keep in mind that some letters can be misread. Unfortunately, with a name like Searcy, there are a lot of letters that could be difficult to read, depending on the writing. Bearcy, Seavey, Soarcy, etc.

I have also been scouring American records for Searcy and do not see Isabel here.

I cannot find the following on AutomatedGenealogy:
The age is incorrect, but shown on Ancestry Canada for 1911 Canadian Census is
Isabel Pearcy, Ontario, Toronto West, born 1868.
---------------
Update: Until I (just) found Isabelle Searey on the 1911, I had forgotten that you already had her on a census! I've been up since 3:15 a.m.; going back to bed now for a bit. Obviously, my brain has stopped functioning. Night for now. :)

One last thing: Thomas (Isabel's "nephew") arrived in Canada in 1907. Perhaps he either came here to try to make a better life for himself; or, could he have come out to help his aunt/mother -- did Isabel's husband pass away around that time??

http://members.shaw.ca/nanaimo.fhs/T071.pdf
Passenger list for Fallowfields in 1907. The children were 9 months and 2 years old. I don't know that I would want to take young children on a voyage!

Another book for you to buy, Misty? "Lure of the South Peace"
Not so cheap this time. I see 2 copies on Abe books. $65 and $88 U.S.
I wonder if there would be any way to ask for a look-up?
We don't even know if the Searcy reference has anything to do with your Isabelle.

Hello Ladies

Been reading all the info, not able come on here yesterday due to migraine and having decotator's all over the house, doesnt help!!

Your right Lisa, about Richard Fallowfield being in Australia, he had two son's, both died the year of their birth.Have found Isobel (on Oz electeral role) who went to New York with her sibbling's..she appear's to be daughter of William Bower and Annie Elizabeth Fallowfield...so shall keep that in mind for later!
I have also scoured the 1901 census...with no joy, hence the thought she may have been in America.
Have no info on Isabel's husband at all......

Margaret Thank you for info on the book and message....will try e-mail!

Many thank's for your time and the info

Misty x

PS..Lisa, didnt make a life up for you, but did wonder if you had the same kind of lovely Colonial house, with a large front porch and pool in the back garden(yard) as my friend's, who live just outside of Chicargo...also if you have a Cheese Cake Factory Restaurant where you are...best Cocktails and cheescake I have ever had...Yum!!
My son will be working in California (not sure where) for the the next couple of week's....small world isnt it !!
