Yes Lewisham library, has been searched, we are aware that at present, most avenues have been exhausted, but as you say, we are now looking for that one person!!! May have a long wait.

Many thanks Christine, I have been researching my wife's ancestry for over 10 years now, over this time all that I have found is with may I add, with the help of many other people is more or less what has shown up via this thread. I have been in contact with the Bapty's, have copies of all the certificates and numerous documents re: Japanese Village. What my wife and I were hoping was there might be out there somewhere a living relative, or someone who knows of one, thus the reason for this thread.
