no maybe not i did see the 1881 census and thomas was an inmate prisoner and Hawker ,i think this maybe a different one in 1861 because thomas was married to eliza there first child born 1873

I was thinking that perhaps the 1861 & 1871 censuses were the same and that Roseanna is Rose.


It looks as if son William b c1873 is in the Totnes Union Workhouse in the 1881 census.....poor lad!

oh right , maybe that is why there is a large gap between the first and second chlld 6 years.was the father in prison

Yes, I think this could be the same person. Have you seen there is also just below him a Thomas Glyde jnr 9 mths (is this his son Thomas aged 21 in the 1901 census) and then Eliza Crewes is this his wife?

No Thomas in the 1901 census aged 21 was born England
