Viv, the information from the 1911 census does the site do a pay for view system because I would like to get a copy. On the Arthur Henry Foote piece it states (from your e-mail reply ) that he was a lab. in Saw mills in Wincanton. But the residence at the time of the census was at 7 quarry Court Plymouth which would be correct because my mother was born in Quarry Court.

http://www.1911census.co.uk/

It says he was born in Wincanton not working there.
It does not say where he was working, just that he was a sawmills labourer.

Do get a copy as of course it should be in HIS handwiriting,if he could write and didnt get someone else to fill it in.
I would offer to send you a copy by email, but the last one I tried to do is still being searched for in cyberspace!
Not very techno me...

Hi Viv.
Well that's explained a bit more, another question I'm sorry was the census from Plymouth,Devon the reason I ask is that someone from another forum stated that he had tested the transcription of the piece on my grandparents and they were not born in Devon,Somerset or Dorset, (I've been researching in Dorset) as well. Reading his reply just confused me more then ever.

Yes the census was done in Plymouth,Devon.
It is a goverment form so if thats where it says it was done then it must be I would have said.
When this "other"person says that he has "tested the transcription"I am presuming that he has tried to follow Arthur Henry Foote born in Wincanton Somerset back.,he wont be able to ,as he was born as Harry by my research ,not Arthur Henry,he changed his name for some reason, prob to make a new start and marry under that name ,this is far from the first instance of people doing this, just ask anyone on here and in fact my other greatgrandfather changed his name from John Henry to Thomas plus moved his date of birth to become old enough "overnight"to join the navy...
If that person follows baby Kate/Kathleen back they will see why I am saying this.
You can of course go with their findings ,or rather NON findings, but he clearly states on 1911 he was born in Wincanton, also on 1901 as Harry with his "wife"and child.
And before that we find the man on 1901 as Harry ,born Wincanton..with Father William, but as you have never said WHAT his fathers occupation was on his marriage cert to Jane I can not tell you if this is 100% the right person,I just truly think it is..

If you give ALL the details from his marriage cert as asked for earlier by Dea it makes it easier to find things, and of course I cant see what you have in front of you, only you know that,so unless it is transfered to here????

T****l p***s and R**ts c**t...
None of them have taken Kathleen Foot/Foote registered in march quarter 1901 into account I see.

You go with them Terry ,and search the country for Arthur Henry Foote who says he was born in Wincanton.
Maybe you will find him in West Ham !

One of them says this.

Are you getting muddled. Arthur H Foote married Jane Perring in Plymouth 1910, why are you referring to an Harry Foote with wife Jane in 1901. I expect that this couple were either Harry Foote/Jane Sheaven who married in Sherbourn in Dec.1898 or Harry Foote/Jane Stone, Salisbury Mar.1899.

If you have your parents birth cert with their mothers maiden name of Perring on it then how in heck can he be married to one of the proposed above????????
If all the childrens births that I found are your parents siblings then surely we have the correct 1901 census with him as HARRY .
