Helen,
I know John William Terry (1875 - 1942) was living in Leaden Roding, Essex in 1901 and I believe his father Charles Frederick Terry (circa 1836) lived there before him and his father John Terry to whom I refer (c 1806 - 19/04/1879) was also there. Charles Frederick Terry married a Marie Ann Harrington in 1863. Hope this gives you enough info to go on.
Thanks
Russell

Helen, unfortunately I don't what his mothers name was so I can't verify. Though I'd be keen to have a look at whatever you have found and maybe I can figure it out.
Thanks

No wonder he's the invisible man...spent most of his life on ships! Actually is it the same conviction? The dates are very close together
