Most excellent work there Ozi,a joy to watch unfold.

And well done Jan for the "crucial"question to help solve yet another bothersome Welsh Evans problem. .

Thanks to you all!! Your'e amazing!!
Particular thanks Ozi - loads of work - much appreciated. Nearly at point of printing tree. Means a lot to me and my brothers as we have very little family history. didn't even know grandparents names till I joined GR. Have enough info now to move on. Been stuck on this one for 6 weeks! Never even considered Griffith E from Ffestiniog.
Thanks again.

Hi all. sorry it's me again.
You can all groan and shake your heads in disbelief but I only just got the bit about Griffith being in hospital on the night of the census in 1891!! Told you I was slow. All makes perfect sense now, finally!
Goodbye for now
Ken :-)

It was a most enjoyable and satisfying 'find', Ken. Happy hunting with the rest of your ancestors.

You'll need patience with that Welsh lot!

HI Ozi,
If you are still around can you tell me how you managed to find births with the fathers name and the mothers first name without first having the certificate?
You help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Ken

Still here, Ken. Nice to see you're still around too. How have you been going with your ancestors?

Do you mean my post of 15 Dec 2009 20:56?

If so, I got all relevant births from freebmd then checked them out on the 1881 census, and the 1901 census.

It's educated guesswork, so for confirmation you'd need the certificates.

Hi Ozi,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Didnt really think I'd get a response after all this time!
I sort of figured that out after posting my question but its nice to have it confirmed.
My tree is more or less complete now and I would like again to thank you and all the others for their help as I think I would probably still be stuck on Grandfather Griffith! Fannybygaslight in particular was amazing.
Hope your all well and keeping up the fantastic work. I still struggle getting my head around things - takes me ages!
cheers,
Ken
