hi catherine
thank you for the info was very much appreciated
The marriage cert i ordered for john blythe 1851-1921 arrived today and to my suprise it had his fathers name down as matthew blythe? so it has left me a bit confussed as i have john blythe down as being the illegitmate child of mary blythe, i have tried finding john blythes birth on freeBMD so i can order the cert but i cant find it on there, i have also looked on family search found his birth on there but no index number it states his fathers name as matthew blythe but no mothers name,
is there any other free sites i could search ?
kind regards

JN BLYTHE - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Marriage: 03 JUL 1813 Muker, Yorkshire, England
Spouse: MGT CLAVERT

John and Peggy married in 1813 so can't be parents of Richard as he was born in 1801.

all these bmd records can be found on "familysearch.org" which is a free site to search.

This could possibly be the death you want:-

Deaths Jun 1869 (>99%)
Blythe Richard 70 Aysgarth 9d 373
Aysgarth is the reg.dist.for Hawes.

2 possible for John Blythe so all depends on how old he would have been at the time of death to which is the correct one:-

Deaths Mar 1921 (>99%)
Blythe John (70) Burnley 8e 264

Deaths Sep 1921 (>99%)
Blythe John (54) Burnley 8e 211

all these can be found on "freebmd.org.uk"

Possible death:-

Name: William Blythe
Death Registration Month/Year: 1958
Age at death (estimated): 73
Registration district: Burnley
Inferred County: Lancashire
Volume: 10b
Page: 930

makes date of birth 1885 but the only way to be sure it's him is to buy the cert.

Catherine

Catherine Report 11 Feb 2010 16:54

This is the only one I could find:-

Marriages Jun 1908 (>99%)
xxxx BLYTHE William Burnley 8e 415
COATES Percival Denham Burnley 8e 415
xxxx DIXON Lily Burnley 8e 415
Walmsley Edith Burnley 8e 415

children that would go with this couple:-

Births Mar 1912 (>99%)
Blythe Nellie Dixon Burnley 8e 382

Births Sep 1917 (>99%)
Blythe William D Dixon Burnley 8e 231

Births Dec 1921 (>99%)
BLYTHE John Dixon Burnley 8e 313

Births Dec 1927 (>99%)
Blythe Elizabeth Dixon Burnley 8e 235

Births Mar 1910 (>99%)
BLYTHE Nora Burnley 8e 194

so there's Nellie, John, Elizabeth and Nora.
No Richard but there is a William D. Blythe?
