i just found Morris William Dallas signing up for WW1 but on here his name is given as William Morris Dallas and sadly for me the pension bit doesnt seem to be their which would of shown Blanche and Martha Dallas. :-(

When you have got marriage cert can you let us know what details were on that if any re Annie's Parents... I am curious as my gr grandparents got married here in NZ in 1889 and their certificate has their parents etc.

I should think the parents will be on the marriage i think like England the New Zealand marriage cert ask who the parents of the groom and bride are. But will let you know when i do get around to sending for it.

mind you i do have a New Zealand marriage cert for Arthur and Blanche but thats 1929 i will have a look at it and see.

Ok just ordered Maurice death cert so it should get to me next week.

after that i need to order Blanche birth cert from the info given here and see whats on that.

For adoptions in New Zealand. You can apply for the post adoption certificate any time, but will only give the names of adopted parents. The pre adoption certificate can only be applied for 120 years after the birth of the adopted child, unless you can provide death certificates for all parties involved, thats the natural and the adopted parents, and the child that was adopted. If you can only provide some death certs NZ BDM will charge a search fee plus the certificate fee for the others. I have just sent for one myself last year. I had 3 death certs, but didnt know the birth parents only had an idea. It cost me NZ $120.00. You need to contact NZ BDM and a special form will be sent to you. Hope this helps

What Julie is stating is the bog standard answer New Zealand give me when i email Auckland. They always add the bit regarding the law and point out for me to read that.

Which states the hole 120 years all partys dead or death certs for all involed which i can not do as i have no way of knowing who the real parents were.

I have sent for cert for Maurice death and already have Blanche death cert just need Annie(not having any luck finding her death).

But will prob have to pay New Zealand to do searches on birth parents.

But in the mean time im going to try Quinsgran way and see if i can have the info with out the search i have been emailing New Zealand but i will get better results by writting to Wellington i have been told.

Talking to dau in law today she said when she applied to the court for permission to have adoption files open she had to prove the relationship via her mothers birth,marriage and her own birth details. She was then assigned a councilor who asked her why she wanted them opened etc.
I guess not being in New Zealand that will prove to be a problem for you.

Its stupid asking for proof of parents deaths when you dont know who they are. Also there is a possibility they could have gone to live in Australia as many do and died there.
Searching Australian bmds isnt straight forward because they are not centralised. Each state have their own.

Thanks Quinsgran,yes Blanche daughter tried but they wouldnt move then my cousin tried but no luck.

mind you im still going to try writting to Wellington also as i said before i do belive Blanche husband Arthur sent for something to prove her birth date so she could have her UK pension. And thats why i belive on the bmd it has 1963 in the ref as i belive thats the year he asked for the info.

Thanks to help on here i sent for Maurice death cert which if its him it looks like he died back here in the UK im hoping Annie signed the death cert then i know i can look on from there and in the London area for her death.

NZ... seems to love having you go round in circles to find anything. All these rules and regulations which if you know somebody or the right person or a back entrance, can be got around... it is just the idiotic simpleton logic that blocks one.

Yes some rules are there for a purpose but some do not make any sense at all.

BMD is a case in point... info for historical/genealogical purposes have this 100 years re birth date.... yet I or anyone else can go to the CBD library and find my daughter's birth and me listed as her mother on the microfiche. Okay so it only gives the year of birth. I just think BDM could make the cut off at 90 (prefer 80)....

Rob, once you've seen this info let me know please so I can delete this chap from this thread.... would hate for any living rel to come across this especially if my suspicions are right and they not know this.

If you check Freebmd with the surnames Dallas and Hone for children you will see that there were 6 possible children, first child showing born 1916.......... can't see a marriage to fit though prior to these births!!

Maybe Annie past away in Canada and Maurice returned to the UK and remarried to Lilian.

If the marriage is for your Maurice/Morris and the 6 children from 1916 onwards are his.......... then with a later marriage I would think that Annie was still living until around the time of the 1938 marriage, finding her would be a possible nightmare as she may have been living under a false surname and maybe her death would also be in this surname???

Maurice(Morris) death cert came this morning and one it he is down as a painter which is on of the things my Maurice did.

His widow is indeed a Lilian as Bat had said above so i now need to look at marrigaes for them and maybe divorce or death for Annie to see of this is the right Maurice Dallas.

Hello again please could i have bit more help this time with Annie Dallas.

I am still unable to find Annie Jane Dallas Death or anything really i know she is still alive in 1918 and prob still with Morris as he has her on a form as departure contact when his traveling. Here is the info so she is still around on April the 24th 1918.

Married Morris William Dallas in New Zealand in 1899.

Childred Blanche Olive Dallas(they adopt Blanche from New Zealand)
Martha Rebeca Dallas i can find no trace of Martha after 1911 when she is around 1 months old. Martha was born Lincoln,Ontario,Canada on the 7th of Feb 1911. And as i say last document i find her on she is going to New York from Canada and then back again. Although one travel doc says 1 month the other 6 month i think they just saw a baby and guessed the aged i think she would of been new born and around 1 month old.
