I have no idea what her first name was, I know my uncle (Williams son) mentioned Kennington (The Oval?) I dont know if this is where she lived or still lived at death, and I also have NO idea when she died (my uncle was born 1927, but he travelled to Australia alot, but said he remembered calling her Mrs Priestley, so he must have been a teen at least)

Loo

Loo Report 26 May 2010 13:35

I also know William had 2 sisters (Wallis), then there were the Westlake Boys (I'm assuming only boys were born to Williams mother & her Westlake husband), but do not think she had any children with her Priestley husband.

Hi Loo,

You say that your Grandfathers mother was married 3 times.... Priestley was her surname at death? I don't suppose you have a first name for her? Or know where she died?

Because your Grandfather is giving us trouble locating a birth for him we could try skipping a generation and hopefully things may fall into place then????

So anything else, no matter how small, about your Grandfathers parents and step parents would be great.

My Grandfather died in London (My nan moved to Essex just a few yrs before she died) My mum says he died about 1968/1969 I've looked under these tears but found nothing, I even tried Henry William Wallis (as it said on my fathers adoption cert) but still no luck, thank you though :o)

Loo

Loo Report 26 May 2010 03:10

hi,
sorry, I've been told my nan was born in London, I have NO idea where my grandfather was born (Last known address was 109 Mayall Street London, thats what it says on my fathers adoption cert)
I believe I found my Grandmother on the 1911 Census, but I'm not 100%!

I've ordered the marriage cert, but est. 17 July Dispatch!!

They were married in the July/Aug/Sept quarter. Deffo 1927, they had 2 sons Reginald (1927) Leonard (1935) and a daughter Joyce (1931) they adopted my father in 1952 (born 1951 but had him since he was 10days old)

My Grandfathers Mother was married 3 times, Wallis, Westlake & Priestley (Priestley came last not sure about the order of Wallis Westlake)
