Sorry - no Julie, I don't think he is one of Brians. Your Edward Martin birth is the only sure thing that has been found - well so far!!

Sorry - I need to go now, but will check back tomorrow.

I think you can scrub that ealier posting with the death of William Henry Land - he was born in Tiverton in 1902

There was a plain William Land born in Bradford in 1902???

Brian

The only way forward, or in this case backwards, is to splash out and order that birth certificate! Then you can stand back and watch the brick wall crumble!!

While it is good to gather information from our parents and grandparents, it best just to treat it as a starting point. In most cases our grandparents wouldn't have known if either of both their parents had been married twice.

It you want you family tree to be accurate, order the certificate please.

When you get the certificate come back to this thread and we will try to help.

This looks like the marriage for that couple on the 1911 census

Conwell Sarah Bradford, Y. 9b 239
Land Edward Bradford Y 9b 239

Perhaps someone with a sub. will look at the full entry - I am only using the free search facility.

I really don't think that they are the correct family though.

Where did you get Joseph John's name from if you don't have your grandfather's birth entry please?

Brian

Brian Report 5 Jun 2010 16:09

Ive tried looking before for these family members and can never match anything so i thought i would ask the experts ! on here.

rootgatherer Report 5 Jun 2010 16:08

Brian - don't go away please!

Do you have Edward's birth certificate? If not then that is your first step.

When did Joseph John die please?

Have you found the boys on any 1901 census records please?

Julie

Julie Report 5 Jun 2010 16:03

But it doesn't add up......

If Isabelle died in 1900 & your G/ father was born on 1901
also Rootgatherer has posted a death for William that has his birth in 1902

Brian

Brian Report 5 Jun 2010 16:01
