Good Morning, I am trying to find any information regarding my Gt Grandfather "Owen Cain", the little information I have so far is:-

Believed to be born (or lived in) Forfar, Angus, Scotland about 1877. (I would really like to confirm his place of birth).

Owen Cain married a Minnie Ann Rogers in Croydon late 1900 Croydon (BMD 2a 611)

At this point he added an “e” to the end of his surename (unknown reason)

1902 Birth Certificate of son Alexander Caine shows living at 4 Walnut Tree Walk, Lambeth, Surrey

1911 Census shows living at 9 Faulkner Street Blackley Manchester as a Tramway Platelayer) with wife and son, (1 unknown child had already been born and died)

BMD Deaths Jun Qtr 1913 Cain Owen 36 Bucklow 8a 248 (not 100% sure about this bit of info)

Any other info would be good, especially confermation of birth, his parents etc.....

No, I cant find them on any other Census.... is this normal?

Before my Father died he told me that he thought Owen was at some time in the Scots Guards... maybe he was and was posted abroad, but I dont know where to look for that information.... or if it would be a wild goose chase?

Minnie died back in Croydon under Caine and Cain in 1948.

Found Minnie in 1881 but she's missing in 1891.

Astra, All the children in Prestwich I have to discount
Family History:- My father (Trevor Caine b 1932) always lived with his mother Lillian (Little) and Grandmother Minnie (Rogers), first in Croydon then in Bognor Regis, he rememberd his Grandmother well, there were no other relatives born to Owen & Minnie (apart from the one that died pre 1911)
