His marriage cert just says full age. the orhcestra give the name William DOuglas Gordon.
I tis strange that they are listed twice in 1881 census. I have the family in 1891 but not him - possibly in the army.
thanks for the information about his first marriage - interestingly he is listed as William here but on the childrens birth certs he is Douglas - just adds to my suspicions that he is one and the same. Curiouser and curiouser. The other mystery is why is his address at the time opf marriage listed as the Coventry and Warwick hospital?
Still keen to find out his mothers maiden nmae and the birth cert / marriage cert for his parents.
