This could be a possibility for marriage

Marriages Mar 1900
BOWMAN Thomas Kingston 2a 588
Hosegood Arthur Richard Bromley 2a 588
Jarman Susan Jane Bromley 2a 588
Swallow Ellen Bromley 2a 588
Vale William Bromley 2a 588

You'll note that Thomas Bowman was married Kingston the rest in Bromley. On looking at the image I think the page number should be 538 not 588. When I've put 538 in the following marriages come up .....you'll note that their is a male missing

Marriages Mar 1900
Brown Ellen Louisa Kingston 2a 538
Tickner Henry Kingston 2a 538
Wilson Sarah Ann E Kingston 2a 538

So could Thomas Bowman have married Ellen Louisa Brown?

How have you linked the marriage of Ellen Bowman - father Thomas - to the Thomas Bowman born in Southwark in 1880/1, if you haven't got any documentary proof?

I think I have found their marriage on freebmd. Jun 1899 in stockton. I matched up the numbers (10a 113) and it matches with a thomas bowman and ellen macintosh? Believe it or not I have never used freebmd before! Am learning all these new things, very exciting!

The 'other' child from the baptism
Name: Frederick Thomas Bowman
Year of Registration: 1902
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
District: Kensington
County: Greater London, London, Middlesex
Volume: 1a
Page: 171

This would at least give you the mother's full names

Victoria Report 29 Nov 2010 17:24

I think it must be correct, only a year out. I thought 1904 and christening is 23 dec 1903 so quite close. The christening was in Walham Green, London. The Ellen I'm talking of died in 1931, after marrying frederick j cocklin and having 2 daughters, ivy lillian and florence. Her daughters were both born in Fulham, they were only 2 & 4 when she died so Im guessing that is where she died also.

Flick

Flick Report 29 Nov 2010 17:14

Unfortunately, 1911 search doesn't work the same as Ancestry....can't specify relationships.

When and where did she die?

Are you now saying that the christening may not be for the person you are trying to research?

Victoria

Victoria Report 29 Nov 2010 17:12

If it is the correct christening then its also Ellen, just a bit confused as ellen died very young so thought had a year of birth right but obviously not?? iIf you search with mothers name also and a wider year of birth does anything show in 1911?
