Is anyone also able to do a look up and see where she was living in the 1911 census? She died in Brighton.

Sorry for not getting back sooner! Have been really busy with kids home from school due to the snow etc!

Thank you MarieCeleste I will check those sites, you never know we may have a link!

I have an Ellen who was born in Cork (on censuses she states this). She lived 1831-1919 and married John Moon. On her marriage cert to John Moon (1852 Etchingham) her father is Jery Macarte, on a later census he calls himself Jerry McCarthy. I cannot find her birth, her mother or Jerrys marriage.

Thank you.

Hi Victoria,
do you have any dates, area or names to work off please, as McCarthy is a very common Cork name.
Lily.

Hi Victoria, I have McCarthy's from County Cork in my family!

Very difficult to research on-line because there are so many of them, and they usually weren't very inspired enough to have unusual first names!

However, give these sites a go:

Hi,
I'm looking for advice on how to go about tracing the above family. I have completely exhausted census searching, free bmd searching etc and want to know where I can go next? It's very frustrating to hit such a brick wall! I have been researching for about 4 months and am learning every day. At the moment I use genes, ancestry, free bmd and google. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have previously had a post on this family but have now deleted as didn't want to duplicate and we didn't get anywhere last time.

Thank you.
