	Oops -- 39 in 1896 makes her born c1857, not c1837? edit -- great arithmeticians think alike. ;) Also -- Beridge (as in your subject line) or Berridge? Proofreading is a good thing.

	In 1891, as a resident of an institution, she may appear only under her initials. What was the place where she died -- Borough Asylum where? -- to try to find her that way in 1891.

Member Since: October 2008 Posts: 9 Send Message	I am having trouble finding any details of Alfred Jarvis's (my great grandfather) first wife - Martha Jane Berridge (per their daughter's Elizabeth birth cert -(4 sept 1886 Basford notts) and martha died in march 1896 aged 39 of general paralysis for 6 years at the Borough Asylum notts. Therefore born approx. 1837 (in the october alfred married my grandmother) I have been unable to find her on the 1891 census at present, but I found that alfred is a lodger/groom in long street and their daughter is with her grandmother (Eliazabeth!) in Burton Joyce. Also I have not been able to find a marriage certificate for her either and due to not having her on a census I do not know where she was born. Any help/ideas on tracking her down would be appreciated
