prickly, i can feel my brain frazzling!!
so is Ellen tullett 24 widow now Hellen De(a)nce 27? or is she now Ellen Golding 43?
I'm getting rather lost, but what is interesting is there is a Thomas Golding named as witness on Elizabeth's marriage cert. Has her mother married him now? Or have I gone wrong?

MarieCeleste Report 21 Feb 2011 15:53

The 1911 that Holly posted says Ellen and Thomas had been married 10 years.

Can anyone find a suitable marriage?

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 21 Feb 2011 15:58

I'm also wondering if this is the Harry and Ellen in 1901?

I think Robert Tullett and Harry Dence are under the floor boards because i cant seem to find a death entry for either of them!!!

Clair

Clair Report 21 Feb 2011 16:05

lol maybe she did away with them to marry thomas golding!

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 21 Feb 2011 16:09

I'm starting to think she was a bit of a girl!

It would have been nice to have found the appropriate records to tie the loose ends up.

PricklyHolly Report 21 Feb 2011 16:17

I checked out births after 1911 for any children with MMN Tullett or Dence but unfortunately there arn't any!

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 21 Feb 2011 16:19

I am wondering if she actually married Robert Tullett?

Clair

Clair Report 21 Feb 2011 16:19

hi Marie.....is this the right ellen still or not? was she ellen tulip tullett dence golding? or is tulip a variation on tullett? is it possible to get her maiden name? (Or have I missed it in all thenformation?)

Clair

Clair Report 21 Feb 2011 16:22

sorry, MMN? something to do with maiden names or am I on totally the wrong track??

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 21 Feb 2011 16:28

Clair - Mother's Maiden Name (you'll soon catch on!)

I'm wondering if Tulip could have been an error for Tullett.

We'll keep digging .....

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 21 Feb 2011 16:28

Sorry............Mothers Maiden Name'

On the 1901 for Hellen Dence, the enumerator probably missheard Ellen for Hellen.........
On the original image, Thomas, Elizabeth and George's surname is Tullett.

thnx ladies.....got maiden name, just couldn't think of a second 'm'!!

thnx safc...shouldnt there be even number of ppl in the marriage records instead of five?? lol Hopefully, Robert Tulett married Ellen Knapp....that would make sense from everything else everyone has found!
Trust my relation to have a name like Tullett that turns into Tullet, Tulett, Jullett & Tulip :-s

PricklyHolly Report 21 Feb 2011 16:35

Have you noticed on the 1911, the Mother and Father in laws surname is Allen. But that could perhaps be the in laws from possibly Thomas Goldings first marriage.

I think we all just shuddered at "that name" TULLETT (and variations).

Love TULIP,though!!!!

OK,so is this who they are with in 1891???

lol Maureen....tulip & tullett aren't even close! if you're mishearing them & you're job's in important documents, you need another job!!

who are they?? I think I need to scroll up! who is alice to ellen?

MaureeninNY

MaureeninNY Report 21 Feb 2011 17:29

I would have given a chance at Alice being a sister?

Maureen
Sorry- Tulip and Tullett would sound close to me! Literacy being a bit of a problem?

Clair

Clair Report 21 Feb 2011 17:42

would you pronounce the "tu" of tullett like tulip? I just assumed it was 'tull-ett' not 'tu-llett'...but literacy yes. even simple ones like dance & dence.one letter wrong makes all the difference!!
sorry, forgot about Alice in other census....so ellen was widowed & presumably moved in with her sister's family.
can we discount the 1901 census from pricklyholly which had parents as william & esther? or are they connected somewhere along the line?
