Come back with your findings, when you have those certificates.

You may need to pay a visit to the Cheshire Records Office (link posted on previous page) to look for further records ie Amelia's baptism, as it's not on the IGI.

As Sylvia said above, illiteracy meant that names were not always recorded correctly. They would be noted down as heard by the parish priest, registrar, enumerator etc.

So no, it isn't easy. But if it was, it wouldn't be so much fun. :-)
