Diane, if you go back kind of to the beginning, Dee asked what Alexander's occupation was on his marriage certificate. Since occupations are shown in the Scottish censuses at Ancestry, that info can help find a person.
Also an address or exact location if there was one.
I pointed out what a hash Ancestry has made of census transcriptions in 1881 in at least that one part of Scotland. I wonder whether you have tried searching for the household in the censuses at scotlandspeople instead?
As well, Ann o' GG hasn't identified her sources for all of that stuff, but I suspect it is material that someone has submitted to the Mormons, and it probably shouldn't be relied on without some more "official" confirmations.

Anne of Green Gables - how exciting these look like they are the right people, I knew there was a very distant link to Lord Lovat and he appears here, now all I need to find the link after Alexander. I suppose the title would have gone down the generations to the one that my great granny talked of. :D

Thank you for all your help - these are names which run throughout the family and I have just learnt from my mum that Alexander Mackenzie (1832 ) father's name was Colin. Thats all she knows but i now have loads to go on.

A o'GG, Ross and Cromarty is full of Roderick McKenzies, for example, in the censuses.
I think this is all a bit random. I can only guess how many McKenzies were born and baptized and married in Ross and Cromarty ... and hope you are not going to post them all!!!
