But it looks right what the others have found so far
Jane Ann married Thomas Atkinson and sister Margaret (2nd Margaret after 1st Margaret died 1854) Thomas Coatsworth

I think I can be pretty sure with this

Chris, I don't want to be a spoilsport but I do now think that Margaret may be from the other Herring family - you'd mentioned her after I'd made the comment about re-named siblings. I can't find a Jane and a MArgaret in the same family

EDIT: BUT - there are these 2 births:

Births Dec 1863
HERRING Margaret Sunderland 10a 424

Births Dec 1864
HERRING Margaret Sunderland 10a 448

There were 2 Margarets born 1864 in Sunderland, I'll have another check

Yes,
The one Margaret is the daughter of Andrews brother William and married Henry P Gatrell

Do you think I can go with this?

Pity we can't find the 1871 census

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 25 Aug 2011 22:07

The original does look like Haming, but Andrew is a tailor.

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 25 Aug 2011 22:12

A pleasure. In case you're wondering how I found it, I picked the most unusual child - Isabella - input her name, date and place of birth, father and mother's names and pressed GO. No surname.
