So the Richard on the marriage certificate was an invention?

I have not found her in 1901/1911, has anyone?

I thought Gins had Hannah married to Mr Thorpe, including some Sabin family with them in 1901?

How do you know Hannah Sabin on the birth certificate as Mother is Hannah Sabin daughter of Edward and Mary- seems unlikely because of the Thorpe marriage?

Has the question of the parentage been solved to your satisfaction?

If not, will you please remove the tick you placed on Reggie's posting on p.1.

The tick shows on the Index page, and indicates that the question has been solved ....... and therefore no other helpers will look at the thread to see if they can help.

The mother named on the 1900 birth cannot be the woman born in 1867in West Bromwich, if she married in 1888.

There is another Hannah of a similar age in 1901, occupation, Cook, Domestic.

Sorry to labour the point, but is there one shred of documentary evidence to support the idea that Georgina Hill was a pseudonym for Annie B G Sabin?

Annie B G Sabin was born in Shropshire.
Would that be likely for the 'other' Hannah?

I was thinking about a younger Hannah - birth 1880's, who then married.

I wonder if this is William and Mary's marriage...

Marriages Jun 1894 (>99%)

Barber Mary Shoreditch 1c 157
Hill William Shoreditch 1c 157

Mary

Mary Report 8 Apr 2012 13:06

So that would be the Mary Barber,Aunt to William Thomas Barber who took in ABG(Queenie) as stated on the Ancestry tree.
One tree states Annie BG had 3 children in the name of Hill,2male and 1 female.

I wonder why she was down as Annie B Dix,could Hannah Sabin have married Mr Dix?

Maryb.

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 8 Apr 2012 13:24

So there you go Chris.

Annie did not get the surname "Hill" from her Mother marrying a "Hill".....

The Surname Hill was her adopted name.

So it seems then, that she gave birth to an illegitimate child.... Patricia Barbara Hill in 1932.

Annie obviously preferred the name Georgina Hill at the time she registered Patricia's birth.

She then went on to marry Arthur Norman Barber in 1943, using her birth name of Annie Bertha Georgina Sabin
