from the age on the census there is also this one

Births Dec 1853 (>99%)

lancashireAnn

lancashireAnn Report 21 May 2012 13:23

there is also the possibility Ann was not registered, Liverpool was an area where many births were not registered before it was compulsory.
eg
this baptism is of one that would have been registered right on the limit of the 6 weeks allowed but should have been in the June qtr

Jude. I can't get a birth certificate for Ann because I don't know her exact date of birth and would have to purchase quite a few and eliminate them and they are too expensive to buy and then not be the right one.
The O'Connor family came from around Blackwater, Co Wexford, I do know that much.

Jan. Good of you to find me a bit more information. It is very frustrating to be so near but not find that vital piece of the jigsaw!!

The 1911 census is frustrating. I have so many children born and died between censuses. And as the mmm was not part of the bmd record before 19111 - little or no chance!! Without knowing where in Ireland Michael was born you are on a slippery slope! Connor born Ireland landed Liverpool is very very common. Your best chance is Ann's birth certificate

To Ann, Jude and Jan.
Just back on and found messages, thanks very much,
Jude, the other three children of Edward and Ann Marsh that died were twins Hannah and Gertrude, i died 2 days and other 5 days in October 1883 and another girl Mary died 26 days in December 1886.
Looking at all the info sent, I wondered if Michael married twice, but we have never heard of Ann having brothers or sisters, story through the family is that Ann's Mother died giving birth or very soon after. Interesting to see the name Fahey on the census though as my Dad's cousin did say Ann's Mothers maides name was Feahy or Leahy!! Getting more of a mystery by the minute!! I would love to find Ann's Mother as she is the only branch that I have not been able to find. Thanks again to all. Teresa . :-S

saw this one and thought the same. But this Michael is already widowed so how did his wife give birth to Ann three years later? :-(

Some-one sent me an 1861 census ;- Michael Connor 40, born Ireland a widower, Dock Labourer, Ann Connor 7 born Liverpool, both lodging with William Poole 50, Ann Poole 47 and children St Aideen's Parish Liverpool. This looks like my gt gt Grandmother with her Father, but I have tried to find both of them in 1871 on Familysearch site and can't find either of them!! If Michael was a stoker by 1871 and on a ship did they still go on census forms??
