Hello Everyone that helped me.
Just to let you know that the marriage Certificate of William Stone in India has arrived but has not helped me in my research.
I shows that he married on 30 Dec 1860 Lucknow East Indies, there are no fathers names on there so this did not help me to find out who there fathers were and has Wife Margaret has her name as Margaret Walsh (Widow) so i am unable to find her maiden name. So i do not know if she married first time in England Derby was here birth polace on the 1881 census or India
They did look for Francis Birth for 1872 but this came back that they were unable to trace him.
I may have to order one of his siblings births in India as i have the GRO index number already given on this thread already.

Does anyone know if this would have the maiden name on???

Thankyou again for everyone that help me in the pasts

Mel
I see something about Samuel Stone and there were in the same regiment. Do not know where he fits in, but there are a few Stone in the area at that time.

On reading the report I am happy this is my William. So i know his mum name was Harriett...according to what it says for the 1851 census.

Just read that about William. What a find!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D and a picture too.

When I was looking through the millitary records I did see a Samuel Stone on the same page as a William and a Henry Stone.

My dad has just said the he was told that William met his wife who work with Florence Nightingale, with would tie in with the 1901 census for Margaret being a Nurse. posted earlier.

I can not say how grateful i am that everyone has helped me so much.
I am just hoping that this all ties in together.

Vera
Thank you for sending me his Finishing paper.
As it show the date and age when he both joined and left the Army i can now narrow his Birth to August/September 1836
This help me a lot as i can now check at Bristol records office for his Baptism and hopefully find his parents and any siblings if he had any.
Thanks

Hi Mel
Mary and Joseph are siblings.

I think i may also order the 2 death certificates for both Margaret and William which will confirm there ages.

I do have a picture of Mary

Mel
Thank you again for your reply
I dont think this is him either. It seems that he must have joined the Fusiliers in 1853 and went to India then. I dont know when he came back only that his last child was born in 1873 India and then he is on the 1881 census.
My William Stone is going around and around in my head now and i can not out him down...lol
This is why i had to stop the research before.
I am going to look at the Fusilier side to, as i did not know about that
