Dear Janice,
I've PMd you about the images for Harold.
I did know about Matthias's baptism.
I do not have any record of William J Overens although some other Overens have popped up in Canadian records: Robert and Elizabeth marrying off their daughter Sarah in 1860. Plus we seem to have a tenuous Illinois connection with Henry and Mary marrying off their son (there is some hope) Perry S Overens in 1880 but no issue that I've since found...
Unless Michael Overens who married Julia Drignaiti in Illinois in 1915 is any relation (and maybe they had boys too?? - the trail goes dead).
Never heard of Darlene Owens
[Darkos Overens] city, Fayette, Tennessee ...
Thanks so much for your time, effort and energy on this. People have been so kind - I don't know why I didn't use a chat forum earlier.
Best regards, Lucy

Dear Potty,
Thanks so much for your help.
I did know about Matthias' baptism - found it today with tips from users.
I did not know about Richard and Betty's marriage though - I think you may just have stretched my family tree a bit further back in time. I've been wondering where the Mellor connection came from.
Wonderful!
Best regards, Lucy

Dear Potty,
I am not actually sure where John and Jane fit in... I don't have enough info on them. They were married a mere few days after Matthias's parents Richard and Elisabeth (Betty Mellor) in November 1800, witnessed by John Mellor too. Could John and Richard have been brothers? If so, did Jane and John have any boy issue?
It's so tantalising!
Must go to bed soon though, been doing this all day!

Hi Lucy,

I strongly suspect that John and Richard are brothers. John's will would probably mention any children. Lancashire Records office seem to have wills. Try contacting them through this site:

Dear Janice and Potty,
Fantastic research you guys! Don't know how you've managed to get so far back. I came to a halt at 1800.
Will try to spend some time on it this weekend but then it's back to work for me do little time for family trees!
Thanks so much!
Maybe there's a stash of Overens in Canada or Chicago yet to be unearthed. Can't understand why they are not on the Internet though if they are alive now. Believe me I've searched! More likely the name had changed but the bloodline lives on?!
It's a mystery to me.

Dear NanaSue,
Kath is my mother-in-law so not an Overens by birth but one of the only 2 people with the surname (my husband being the last born Overens on the planet!).
Thanks for everyone's efforts.
