But he stated father as John, so don't think 1891 correct, don't think he would get that wrong as he was obviously educated. But the 1901 may be a possibility!

I posted part of this article, but it does go on to say the eder brothers were in the ICS - now think it's highly likely it could be your James - even more interesting, he wrote a book in retirement.

That looks good for them in 1901 K - As expected James is not with the family as he would be in London by then!

There's only one birth on familysearch in Newry (the right reg district) 1874/5 - which should be James.

You may want to take a look at this - James had a younger brother Joseph who was into family history! This is written by Joseph's grandson who has his notes!

Turns out your Edmund Maurice (known as Maurice) had other siblings!

You'll also find the family on the 1911 census at 14 Dunamony, Derrygortrevy, Co Tyrone, Mary is a widow.
