Oh, interestingly enough, I had found George Renwick at 24 Tarn Street from 1918, but sort of discounted him because the Sarah at that address turned into Sarah Louisa in 1922. There was also a James Renwick there in 1922, but I couldn't find a marriage for James to a Sarah Louisa.

There are quite a lot of possibilities for the death of Louie Marie and her husband - this is where their actual birth dates are needed.

No, think I must be mixing her up with one of the others. There's a death for her husband in 1949 reg Greenwich, and a possible re-marriage for her in 1965, but doubtful as it is in Scunthorpe, to Lings.

What address was on the death certificate? Strange if he died in Lambeth area that he doesn't appear to be showing up on the ERs - well at least not with Sarah.

Back then I don't think accurate ages were as important as they are now.

jax Report 22 Sep 2012 20:43

That was quite normal not being able to write...but she could speak so when she was asked her age when she married, why say 21 when she was 24? I know its no big deal but either she did'nt know or she wanted to be younger than she was

renn

renn Report 22 Sep 2012 20:35

jax what shoud have told you she could not write on my fathers b c where it says mothers name she put a x renn a bit like me

jax

jax Report 22 Sep 2012 20:13

She lied about her age obviously. My grandfather lied about his age but if that lie is continued the age at death is going to be wrong, as no one knows any different
