Dizzi they married in 1846, it says they were both underage on the cert.

Their marriage cert is on FMP. Unfortunately FMP newspaper look ups has been unavailable for a couple of days.

So James married under the name of Luckhurst, he then uses on census the name Gorham and then to really throw you.... he registers some of his children under the surname of Lucas.

Lets see if we can find her before this

I am so intrigued, and so wish I can find out why all these changes, I am sure it is right that he married in Luckhurst, lived as Gorham and now these birth registers as the name Lucas has come up a few times, just would so love to know the reason.

I have the marriage cert, have not been able to find her father, the problem I have is that it looks like a spelling mistake and maybe should be Burling, however my Grandfather Ernest on his birth cert the spelling is still Berling, so I cant be sure of the spelling mistake theory is correct.

Think this is her, the others are born in Stratford Essex which ties in with her later census birth place,
