All your help much appreciated.......

I am still not sure if Ann Nash who married Samuel Sanford IS James Nash's sister or not?

This is the real issue for me, If she IS, then I may be able to find other siblings - and their parents - if she isnt, I need to identify Anns parents & James Parents seperately.

At this moment, I am unable to trace / confirm James' family

Thank you again for your help.

Gillian Report 28 Oct 2013 13:57

Thanks Ann - we know from James & Anns wedding, (parish records ) that his father is Richard Nash - a labourer & Anns Father is John Southall a farmer -

On one of the census records of James & Ann, there is a Hannah Hunt - I assumed this was Anns mother.

I amstill looking to correctly identify James Nashs parents & Siblings.....

Gillian

Gillian Report 28 Oct 2013 14:12

Is it possible to find Hannah Hunt in the 1841 / 1851 census records ? There may be a clue there as to who the 'Nash' family was? may be they were neighbours?? Is this how James & Ann met?

I believe that Hannah Hunt came from Canon Frome or Ledbury.

Sorry Ann - my appologies ( wrong info above)

Hannah Hunt in 1861 is down as 61yrs old in the census with James & Ann, so I guess her d.o.b. c 1800?

Yep - thats definately Ann Hunt who married James Nash - & it clearly shows Hannah Hunt as her mother.....(born c1800)

Its Hannah Hunt in 1841 census that might be interesting to find - who is she with & where is she? Also 1851 if pos ( this may give up more clues)....

Thank you Ann

Maddie - Anne

I have to go out now - but wanted to thank you both for your help so far....very much appreciated....

1841 & 1851 Census records for Hannah Hunt may give us more clues as to James Nash & Ann Hunt - ie it may lead me to learn of Hannahs husbands name or other siblings of her daughter Ann or any other info that could move me forward.....so would be very useful to find if possible.

Thank you again for your help

Amanda,

Amanda, Report 28 Oct 2013 21:54

Hi Gillian,

So James's father Richard was deceased before 1841 and probably before James married?

Your James seems not to know where he was born?

Kind regards
Amanda

Gillian Report 29 Oct 2013 09:20

Thanks folks....

Ann - many thanks for the church info
Amanda - Yep - James does say at one point that he is born Ledbury - I have taken a look at the map and Donnington/Redmarley/Broomsgreen
( reg districts ) all classed as Dymock - Donnington could also be classed as Ledbury....so I dont think he was too far 'out of the county' so to speak.....the borders Glos/Warks/herefordshire she to meet around this point..........which makes KN or Out of this County....a bit tricky to pinpoint - but, again, He does in a later census give Ledbury as his birthplace......
