Sorry - the only ones I can find are with both parents.

Perhaps someone else will have better luck?? Might she have been in the Workhouse where they've mangled the surname?

Hi Gins,

Thank you, I do have that marriage got it at the weekend when ancestry was free. Yes they are Jane's parents, William I think died 1850 and Elizabeth went on to marry Joseph Branfoot in 1852. Elizabeth had 2 daughter's with William Annakin, Jane & Elizabeth, and 5 children with Joseph Branfoot. Have Jane with husband John Walker on 1871 with the 5 Branfoot children.

Ifi its right Jane is down on 1851 census as a niece with William and Mary Ann Thackray so trying to work out how she fits in. On 1871 census William & Mary Ann Thackray are with a son in law Johnathan Walker and his wife Mary Ann as I found this on familysearch site not much detail to go on. There's that name again Walker!!!

Hi Gins,

Thank you so much, with that info I went to Nottingham archives and had a look on ancestry and had a look at the the records, as you said the 1851 census image is to faint to read but I agree it's the right Jane.

What a shame the Mary Ann Walker's christening does't have her parents name down, I think I'll post a new thread to see if anyone can have a look at the image in the local archives for Yorkshire to see if it has parents down. I did also a marriage for Mary Ann Walker & William Thacher 26 March 1821 at Manchester but not sure if its the right ones.

I did find Jane's sister Elizabeth Annakin on the 1851 census down as Markin with grand parents William & Elizabeth Walker, on the image you can just make it out as Annakin she went on the marry Robert Bedford.

I do have both Elizabeth Walker's marriage's but didn't notice that there was a Sarah Thackery as witness's on the one to Joseph Branfoot. So that's another one to look at, wonder if she is Mary Ann's daughter.

Again thank you for all your help.

Hi Wendy

You would better asking on here for that info on Mary Ann Walker

It will keep all the info together and stop duplications

You could alter your thread title to assist you in your further search

Hi Gins,

Think I've cracked it, although there's no parents on the christening of Mary Ann Walker 1802 on the online records I've found a marriage of William Walker & Elizabeth Willstrop 25 May 1801 at Cowthrope and that Elizabeth Willstrop was also christened at Cowsthorpe on 3 Oct 1779 daughter of John Willstrop and Ann Horner. ties in with her age on the 1851 census although she put down as Knaresborough as place of birth on census. Cowsthorpe is 7 miles form Knaresborough.
