Hi,everybody.Can anyone help? Thomas Allison,b.c.1833,Yorkshire married Elizabeth Liddle,b.c.1836,Butterknowle,Co.Durham,at Auckland,1858.Family found in 1861&1871 Census living Escomb and Fylands bridge.Unable to find any record after 1871.I believe they had family of at least 6.

Hi Terry,
This may take some time .
As you can see from above, the Allison family were in Ohio at 1880 and PA by 1900.
There is no 1890 US census and it's difficult to know when the family may have moved from Ohio to PA

However, using family Familysearch, I found both the marriage and death of son Henry Allison
It is quite possible that Henry may have married twice and the following is his 2nd marriage.
Henry married Margaret Wilson in Columbiana, Ohio on 22 Dec 1910.
He was aged 45yrs son of Thomas Allison and Eliz Little.
Henry died 11 May 1926 in Ohio and same parents as above.
He is entered as married and dob given as England 14 Apr 1865.

A tree on Ancestry says that son James was born 2 Sep. 1861, Fylands Bridge, Durham, married Mary Turner 1881 and emigrated 1888. Had children Elizabeth (1885-1918), James Clarence (1894-1958) and George Henry (1900-1917). (He died 17 Dec. 1922, Pleasant Hill, Pennsylvania.

Edit: Doesn't make sense if he was already in America on the 1880 census.

I can't prove this Terry, but I think Henry Allison was previously married.

I wondered too Margee about James returning to England when he was in Ohio at 1880, but.......

On the second page of the 1879 Philadelphia Passenger List posted earlier by Maddie, it shows that Elizabeth (15), Henry (14), and Catherine (7) were also travelling with the rest of the family.

So Catherine/Kate was born in England, not Ohio as stated in the 1880 US census. Obvious, really, from her age, and the year of travel.
