Find Ancestors

Hi can any help me I'm trying to find any information on a Gladys Maud Burton born Kingston Surrey 4th August 1911 is it possible to find any information anywhere after she was born .I know who her parent were etc but would like to know where she was living in her younger years up until her marriage at CHelmsford Essex in 1933 any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated !.

If you have her parents names you may be able to find them on electoral rolls, the Surrey electoral rolls are on Ancestry, she wouldn't be listed until she was 21 but you could possibly see where her parents were living. If you wish to post their names I can take a look if you don't have a sub.

Do you have the address where her parents were living on the 1911 census? Possibly she spent her early years at that address.

Hi thanks there for the offer of help .I do know all her parents etc but there's a family mystery attached to her .Just trying to find out who brought her up because her mother supposedly died during childbirth and her grandmother died in 1908 .It looks like I will have to wait until the 1921 census is available but that's years away :-( thank you anyway .

She was living at 7 Westbank road Richmond Surrey on her birth certificate but she always told us that her grandmother raised but I have found out she died in 1908 .her other grandmother was Charlotte SUsanna Burton they lived at Chelmsford area .

As she married in Chelmsford she may have grown up there- what address was on her marriage certificate- and are there any clues from witnesses names

Was her Mother Alice Maud Burton?

If so.....there does not appear to be a death for an Alice M Burton in 1911.

Yes that's her mother Alice Maud Burton she told us her mother died during childbirth and her grandmother raised her but she died in 1908 .gladys other grandmother was Charlotte S Burton and Charles EDward Burton on the1911 census her address was HIgh street road Plumstead just don't know how to find out if she went to live with her at that address .SHe went to a local Grammer school which one I do not know .

That's what I find baffling there is no death of her mother ! And my grandmother had no contact with her father either mmmmm very strange !

Alice Maud Burton born 1887 died haven't got a clue but was told it was the 4th August 1911 during childbirth to my nan but no record exists of the death and only God knows what happened to her dad Harry James BUrton born 1883 as he went AWOL .

That Paddington death certificate looks interesting thank you will take a closer look at that .

A tree on Ancestry has a different spouse for Harry James.

Prickles, I think that is the wrong Harry James Burton.

Gladys's father's birth year is 1886 on the 1911 census.

I think Jayne has the wrong Burton grandparents for Gladys.

Jayne have you got a copy of Alice Maud and Harry James's marriage certificate please? Or did you just assume Harry's parents from census records please.

Rootgather- that 1885 birth looks the right one, well found

Yes I already deleted it Rootgatherer......realising that the birth could apply to other Harry.
