Carol, it's a couple of months since Luckylainey last posted and she may not be checking back to the thread now. If you click on her name you will be able to send her a personal message which GR will notify her of, as long as she still has the same email address as when she registered with GR. Then keep your fingers crossed she gets back to you. |

Between 1901 and 1911, this is the only likely death on FreeBMD - not that that means it's her! : |

Oh I have just had a thought. William John Drew Bates married in 1901. I wonder if this could have anything to do with the Boer War? |

Thank you Mel, yes I think that is John with his Father and his sister Matilda, in 1881. |

I know for sure that William John Drew Bates married in Cape Town SA and died there as I have been told by relatives in SA. However, they do not know what happened to his parents either. I do not have the marriage cert but I do know that he married Francina Johanna Hendrina-Josephine Johanna Kruger in Johannesburg Transvaal. This is what I do know: There was an application for a special marriage licence as Josephine was a Minor. She was assisted by her Father in the anti-nuptial agreement and they were married out of Community Of Property, Whatever that means! |

Yes it was found on Ancestry but it is an incoming list. He came from Cape Town to Southampton in 1925. |
