Thomas Hutson and Harriet Taylor married in 1872, St Giles. I know they had a son George in 1877 and Harry (Henry) born 1885 according to war record, just need to tie it all together. Have war record for Harry Hutson signing up in 1915 aged 30?

The military record says he was a railway (servant)' 'labourer' was added.

Address is same as the 1911 census Glitterbaby posted:

3 Gastingny Place, South Street City Road London.

NOK was Polly Hutson at the address above.

On a later furlough his address is given as 48 Radnor St, Bath St, City Rd London E C

Seems to have been wounded, gassed, and suffered traumatic orchitis.

I have George Hutson birth cert ( that is his full name) born 24th June 1877, 1 Wild Court St Giles. I have a copy of Harry Hutson's WW1 Medal Rolls Index card it says " Dise'd PU 11/07/19 what does that mean? I was hoping to find a marriage for Harry Hutson born 1885, family suggest he married a women from India? Kutina says NOK on the Military record was Polly Hutson? I can't find that? I have his Short Service record dated 14th May 1915 which says he is not married? Who was Polly? so many questions! Thanks for all your help.

alviegal Report 29 May 2015 21:19

I think his papers read

11/07/19 DISCHARGED
NO LONGER PHYSICALLY FIT FOR WAR SERVICE PARA 392(xvi) KR

He was a gunner and his address was 26 Baldwin St, Bath St. EC1. He had a simple fracture to his left tibea due to A S. (active service?)

Poor man went through a terrible time in the war by the sound of things. Very traumatic.

There is mention of a sister being NOK, address 3 Gastitny? Place, Bath St, City Rd, London. She is not named but this was in 1918.

Ah, yes his enlistment papers has Polly as his sister.

Nicola Report 29 May 2015 22:52

Thanks alviegal for that info. Frustration is setting in...Can't find 1881 and 1891 census entries for Thomas and Harriet Hutson with their children. George, Henry(Harry) and now Polly ( there is a birth record for Emma Hutson born 1879 and George born 1877) with the right parents but nothing to tie them all together. Need to find them in the 1891 census, youngest that I know of being Henry(Harry) born 1885. Surely they should be all together in 1891 ???

City Road certainly seems to be his local area going by the military record.

Kucinta

Kucinta Report 29 May 2015 23:31

I thought Mike had already posted census 1891, with Thomas as a widower? With Emma, Henry, and for some reason an Edward G? Family as Hudson rather than Hutson?

Kucinta

Kucinta Report 29 May 2015 23:34

???

he was a railway servant/labourer on the military record:

Name: Harry Hutson
Birth Date: 20 Nov 1885
Residence Date: 26 May 1914
Age: 28
Station: Farringdon
Company: London and North Eastern
Description: Returns of staff at stations and depots as at 31 oct. 1939 1939

May 26 1914 is the date he joined the company.

He is recorded as being single (in 1939) and his grade is Leader.
