The Reddecliffes seem to all have originated from a fairly close knit family in three villages north of Tavistock. Mary Tavy, Peter Tavy and Chillaton (Devon) with a small variation in the spellings probably occasioned by wrongly heard diction in the 1851 census! Some married and moved to Dover, London, Sheffield in the late 1800's and thence have spread around the South of England with one or two emigrated to America and some more to New Zealand (where there seems to be a yearly clan get-together!) with a now sizeable branch -or couple of branches- in Australia. Nigel Reddecliffe is in Lancashire and would like to know more if you have data! He is willing to share the whole old family tree with any other Reddecliffe as may make contact. |

Pam, I have just today (1st Dec) picked up your message and will look over my data to see how far I can trace your Grandmother back. |
