Dear Doreen,

Although your family of Brown's arn't my family, my maiden name was Brown and would love to help you. Do you know when and where Charles's father was born? This will help to track down any ancestors. I have just spent two years and hundreds of hours looking for my grandfather, and found him at last. But I was given some false information in my childhood which was a "red herring". So do give me some information and I will do some "lookups" for you. I am a member of Ancestry.com which is really useful for census records and is free.

Bye for now, Liz.

To all the millians of Browns out there, Has anyone got this little family in there tree. Charles Henry Brown born Highbury ISLINGTON AREA of London. He was in the London Fire Brigade and when the 2nd world War broke out he was in the Royal Navy.He married Violet Carter and they had 2children Eileen born about 1927,Charles Henry born about 1933In 1939 when war broke out Violet and her 2 children decided as there was so much trouble in London they would stay in Berkshire until the trouble subsided. Violets husband wrote to her saying the trouble had eased up in London so the family returned.A bomb dropped on the house they lived in and Violet Carter and her daughter Eileen were killed outright.Charles Brown age 7 then survived and was dug out by the local undertaker and was taken quickly to a local hospital. He is now 74years old and is my husband and suffers from severe memory loss, but I would like to add his family to my tree but looking for Browns is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Can anybody help. Doreen Brown.
