Is anyone researching a Wiiliam Watts born on 28th September 1877 in Saint Anne, Nottingham, Mother and Father were William and Emma Watts(nee Pearson) living at Millstone Lane, Nottingham at time of William's birth. I have a copy of William's birth certificate (sent for in error) if anyone would like it. I have a Watts connection on my tree but am looking for a William Watts born 1877 whose father was called George. Please contact me. Christine

These sound like ancestors Chistine. Emma Watts (nee pearson) and William Watts were my great-great-grandparents. Their daughter, Rebecca, was my great-grandmother.

You may find some difficulty finding them in the census. Their family name was mis-transcribed as "Walls" in the 1891 census. In the 1881 census, Rebecca was visiting her uncle, Edward, but her surname was transcribed as "Walts".

I think William Watts may have died in prison between 1881 and 1891. He was in prison during the 1881 census.

Finally, Rebecca was actually born Rebecca Pearson rather than Watts because she was born the year before her parents married.
