Hello, I am searching on my mother-in-laws behalf, trying to find her roots, so she can finally feel content knowing where she comes from. we've got as far back as her Grandfather 'Henry Gray', born in 1880, died in 1957. He married, but unfortunately we don't know her name. However, they had 9 children by the names of; Arthur, Gordon, Frances, Martha, Mariah-helen, Edna, Annie, Phyllis and another son that we think is called Abraham, though affectionately called 'Abe'. They rooted down in the Leicestershire area we think, as my mother-in-law is the daughter of Edna, and cannot recall her mother living anywhere far from there. She did say that her bloodline was 'Romany Gypsie'. If anyone could help me on this, i would be ever so grateful. kind regards, Kerry.

Hi Kerryann,

Just thought I'd say "hi" as I found you while searching for Romany Grays. My family originate from Hertfordshire but funnily enough we moved to Leicester in the 1960's.

My great grandfather was Fred Gray a romany gypsy who left the clan to marry an outsider. I have a little bit information about his mother and the fact that they were Fair and horse people with base camp in Hertfordshire but I would love to know more about the Gray's.

Al the best
