Hi Lynley

Further to Annette's posting. Do try the Cosford Database (you can google it). You need to look at Thorpe Morieux (the adjacent village to Brettenham) and will be able to follow your link back into the 17th century. You will meet my tree at Edmund Bird b1747Thorpe Morieux.

My Father is now 80yrs old and never knew anything about his family further back than his parents who came to Australia from England. It would be very nice if he could know something about his family. We do have 2 old letters and know his parents Cecil and Elizabeth (maiden name Burgess)both born 1897 lived in the East End of London before coming to Australia. His Grandmother's name was Louisa, died 5/2/1929 and Grandfather William Bird. There was a Percy, Dolly, Ivy, Winnie and a George also mentioned. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
