Hello Andrew,
I am researching my Clements Family History and found your Cleminson inquiry. Your probably wondering wheres the connection...Well, My G/G/Grandfather is/was John Cleminson, he was a convict and transported to Australia, he was tried in Lancaster and it has on his convict record Native Place Ulverton (this could also be Ulverston) If he was tried in Lancaster I am presuming Ulverton/Ulverston is in the Lancaster area or Lancashire. When John married he changed his name to Clements. Do you think there could be a connection with the two families...I dont have any other information that I could even do a search on.
I have worked out the he may have been born c1817

If you could help I would greatly appreciate it....
Regards

Dale

I would be interested in finding out any information about Cleminsons in Lancaster. My great-grandfather was Talbot Cleminson (b 1872); son of Richard Cleminson (tailor, b 1836)); grandson of William Cleminson (b joiner 1809) and great grandson of William Cleminson (joiner): all from Lancaster
